Gah!
It's not "u"! It's "you"! When writing something that's not a text (that's limited by character count), use "you"...and even then only when you can't fit the entire text in the limit!

I wish my parents had sent me to sketching/painting lessons instead of piano/flute/guitar lessons...having to design the 10th Anniversary logo for an organization would be much easier if I had just a drop of an idea on how to sketch...

Federal Holiday! Thank you Veterans (and not just because it's a holiday)!

...now, I'm going back to bed...or logging into work...either way, I'm at home in my PJs.

So, here's a question for all you teachers/former teachers/wannabe teachers:

How do you make an 18th century literature class interactive and answer questions without letting students get too lazy in their thinking (i.e. lead them to the answers instead of just giving it to them)?

I was talking to someone and we couldn't figure this out...yeah, the things I talk about with my workout partner in the gym are weird...

Today, I tried to order a new TV from Dell for my father. At every step of the order process, I checked to make sure that the $500 discount on the TV he wanted was there. It was there, in the order review, through final review and submission of the order. I hit the submission button and the final receipt pops up...showing no $500 discount. What? Where's the $500 discount? Spent the next hour on the phone with customer service to find that there is no $500 discount available. The add is right there in front of me in the paper. It's on an add bar on the website, but apparently not in their system. It disappeared sometime between me reviewing the order and hitting the final submit button, and they had the nerve to offer me $75 off when I tried to cancel the order. Screw that and screw you Dell. I am filing all kinds of complaints, because this it the 2nd time in a year I've had to deal with your crappiness.

As such, I am never using Dell again. For my next computer, I'll buy one off the shelf or build it. For electronics, I'm just going to spend extra buying it somewhere else. You suck Dell and you're getting complaints filed across the board with consumer protection groups.

Naruto and Bleach are the new Dragonball. There's nothing but stupid fights now. Even when I found all the other anime and manga out there tiresome and not interesting, I could still conjure some interest in Naruto and Bleach. Now, I just think they're dumb and I don't want to read/watch them anymore...does this mean I'm officially not a manga or anime fan anymore?

now, back to my regularly scheduled work madness...

Should I hang my head at the fact that I actually find Fringe interesting and I don't totally abhor Joshua Jackson in it?

Tried reading a totally boring book over the weekend. It was so forgettable that I can't even remember the name. However, I promised myself I would finish the book, so I decided to see if I could make it more interesting. I ended up reading each chapter in the proper direction, but the chapters were read backwards. I read chapter 42 (the epilogue) first, then chapter 41, then chapter 40, so on and so forth. Made the book a lot more interesting, mainly due to the confusion, but, hey, I finished the book...I wonder if that will work with the Twilight books (yes, I get bored around page 250 in the first Twilight book)...

Yes, I know. I'm crazy.

that after a Windows "security update" install, my system freaks out? It completely freezes and I can hear the HD continuously spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning. Every single freakin' time. I follow the prompts after the security install. When I need to re-start, I re-start. Heck, even when I don't need to re-start, I usually end up re-starting, because things freak out! Also, after the system freezes, it's not a simple turn off the machine and then turn it back on. No, I have to go through the BIOS boot menu. Otherwise, the dang thing gets stuck trying to start Vista. It's a black blank screen with a single blank prompt and I can hear the HD spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning. It's not that it takes a long time to start. I left the thing on for 3 hours once and another time I left it on all night while I was sleeping. Then I have to start in Safe mode and then restart the damn machine in normal mode. If I don't go through the Safe mode step, I end up with the blank screen and spinning HD again. The best part of this? After I go through all this, Vista finally cooperates. Maybe I should just turn the auto update stuff off (if I can figure out how)...

So, I started going through my zoo pictures last night. I've been having issues figuring out the white balance on my DSLR. The pictures I see on the viewer are either really dark or washed out. At the zoo, I took pictures in SHQ JPEG and RAW, so I kept some of the badly white balanced pictures to play with in Photoshop. I uploaded them to my computer yesterday and found that the RAW photos were actually fine. The JPEGs were screwy (too light or too dark), but the RAWs were fine. No odd darkness or washed out colors. The only problem I could see with some of the RAWs, especially those with ok JPEGs, were that some had bland colors. The colors weren't that vibrant. I'm a little confused on what to do about this though. I mean, this has to mean that the compression scheme my DSLR is using for SHQ JPEGs is really weird...I think...I dunno'. I'll contemplate later when I have more time...

This is what happens when I get curious...

1. There are 30 questions (except they're not really questions)
2. Answer each question with one name from your LJ friends list.
3. Next to each number, write only the name of the person who fits.
4. Don't tell the questions to anyone who isn't doing the meme.

Comment to get the questions, but then you have to answer the questions yourself and post them in your journal.

So, the guy with the office next to mine just sneezed several times in succession. When I say several times, I mean he was sneezing continuously for at least 2 minutes. I had enough time to send multiple e-mails to a guy 3 doors down (I had to look at a case, so I needed to be at my computer). He heard the guy sneezing too...and his office is in the opposite direction. It was funny yet a little frightening...

So, how bad is it when the first conscious thought after waking up is "Well, fuck that. It would be better to blow it up and burn the remains to ashes"?

List of things I am doing right now:

1) Falling asleep. I am tired for no apparent reason...so tired that I'm falling asleep while typing this...

2) Staring at a cup of Oolong tea...and contemplating how I have drank at least 6 cups of this stuff and the caffeine still has not kicked in...

3) Staring at the clock...and realizing that I've got to speak to a lawyer in 2 hours and can't leave for 4...

4) Listening to an annoying vibration that is coming from my ceiling...and having no clue how to make it go away! I've even turned on music (loudly) and the vibration is still loud enough to hear over the music and driving me insane!

5) Thinking about telling the guy in the office next door that I can clearly hear the screaming match he's having with someone on his speaker phone...

6) Realizing that my wrist has a bruise about the size of a silver dollar and how much it HURTS!!!

And now...back to your regularly scheduled program of silence...
